Protecting the Health of Health Care Workers - A Global Perspective

The 7th ICOH International Conference on Health Care Worker Health will be
held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from Friday, October 26, 2007 to
Sunday, October 28, 2007, with the theme "Protecting the Health of Health
Care Workers - A Global Perspective". The meeting will be hosted by the ICOH
Scientific Committee on Health Care Worker Health and the American College
of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and supported by the ICOH
Scientific Committee on Occupational Health and Development and the World
Health Organization. It will be held in conjunction with the 2007 ACOEM
State of the Art (SOTAC) Conference in Vancouver.

There will be a pre-meeting course on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 on
advanced topics in medical center occupational health organized by Dr.
Michael Hodgson (the focus will be particularly on outbreak investigation)
and workshops on Thursday, October 25, 2007 concerning 1. Occupational
Health Care in Developing Countries and Rural and Remote Communities, and 2.
Occupational Infectious Agents and Diseases. The workshops are being
organized by Dr. Annalee Yassi. The Scientific Program Chair for the
Conference is Dr. Mark Russi.

for one soon. Effective Jan. 23, all persons, including U.S. citizens,
traveling by air between the United States and Canada will be required to
present a valid passport to enter the U.S. (see U.S. State Department

Abstracts are invited for this meeting, and may be submitted beginning early
January through April, 2007. OEM List members who work in hospitals and
medical centers are encouraged to prepare and submit an abstract for
presentation at this meeting. Information concerning abstract submission
will be available soon on the ACOEM website. Please sign up now for email
