Well, they underestimate his potential, or they just don't want to teach him.
They are interested in his Irlen filters, but worried about them costing
$400.00. He won't leave them on. I think they would be glad to try the
overlays, but I will need to purchase them.
If you go to www.bryantschools.org and select Bethel Middle School and hit the
GO button. I think it is in the top right corner. You can read about the
school. Bryant is a small town, but this one school is in a rural area
neighborhood. I was visiting the school in May and it was odd to see a city
tour bus come to the school. It was full of architects and engineers who had
come to tour the "green school." Our other green school you can look at from
the website is Hurricane Creek Elementary. Arkansas is called The Natural
State, so I guess they are trying to be true to our motto. lol.

you too? I have a son (age 11) with autism and hyperlexia who has the filters,
but it is hard to get him to wear them. His 1/2 brother, who is now 19, had
dyslexia and used the overlays in school in another state. The school promoted
it after we took him to an Irlen screener. Now he doesn't need them. It worked
for him.

where I can get the overlays from.

some people need the Irlen lenses and overlays for reading. You can order
overlays from the Irlen website. Is the school unsupportive of his use of
overlays?
