Re: [Glimmer 'Colored Filter Glasses'] New Member: Questions about son

It is expensive we got ours paid for from The Society for Manitobans living
with Disabilities for the glasses part, i paid for My youngest ones testing
it cost me 160.00 depends on where you live you might get help from the
health plan you have. But it is so very worth it.

The testing is exhausting and is designed to bring out the symptoms if they
are severe you will see it right away and don't be surprised at what he
might say he will be tired and may be sick to his stomach or have a headache
but let him go to a dark room for awhile and sit quietly it should and most
likely will help the headache go away.

I was lucky that i never had to go through the testing but i have sat
through or attempted to sit through the testing with my children and mother
yes my mother has Irlen as well. I couldn't sit with either of them it made
me uncomfortable so i had to leave.

Is he able to see better in the dark rather than the daylight ?

Both of my 2 can see in the dark better than the light i on the other hand
am night blind with out my glasses i can't see 2 feet in front of my face
and tend to trip over my own feet in the dark.

The bonus is he will get to wear these really cool colored glasses and be
able to see like every one else again and his work will improve in school,
he will start to sleep better at night and he will gain confidence you and
he never realized he had and when he goes for the initial testing, they will
try him with colored filters, and the difference in his reading ability is
like nothing you will have ever seen, he will notice the errors and will
correct him self when he reads out loud, now my children read for fun becaue
they want to.

You will never be sorry you take him for testing, and don't let the eye Dr.
tell you they can make the same tints for your child because they can't, the
Irlen Institute is the only ones who can do the proper tints the child needs
to help him.

I wear green and black lenses, my oldest wears dark purple dark purple
grey and dark teal blue in hers, my youngest wears 2 tints of blue and 1
tint of orange which looks really nice gives the blue a different kind of
look.
