For the initial testing appointment, I saw Helen Irlen. For the
filters appointment, I saw Marilyn Ashley.
My filters will be very dark blue/grey, with some green on the one
eye (I haven't used that eye to see in forever since when it turns
on, all I see are flashes of light, so it was amazing to get some
vision out of it at all).
In school they thought I had ADD. Then they thought I had
dyslexia. My parents said both of those are made up so I couldn't
have either and said I was just a lazy child who refused to read (oh
how I would have LOVED to read if I could have, I read so many books
on audio as soon as I found out about that, and before that, I read
thousands of pages using computer reading software where the
computer reads to me). Now in my 4th year of college, I finally
have my own job and a car (took me forever to learn to drive), so I
got testing. I might get dyslexia testing as well because now our
school says they do it (2 years ago when I went in, they did not).
