Hi everyone,
I just received two urgent letters from Helen Irlen.
There is a world-wide effort to ban the use of the incandescent
light bulb, effectively forcing everyone to switch to fluorescent
lighting - which would be disasterous results for those of us who
cannot tolerate fluouescent lighting well.
Helen Irlen is working to keep our lighting choice options open.
She will be attending government meetings. She urgently needs our
help. Please take the time to make a simple petition and gather as
many signatures before this Thursday and email them to Helen and the
legislators listed below.
Please help, even if you are not from California because this is a
world-wide trend that needs to be stopped and we all need to work
together.
Robin
Here are copies of both of Helen's letters.
Greetings,
Some of you may have already received this information; if you have
already taken action, just delete. This bill will affect many of us
who want the freedom to choose alternative lighting sources. The
window of opportunity to stop this bill is closing rapidly. There
will be two committee sessions held on May 4 and May 9. If you want
to take action, do so immediately.
Do what you can.
Respectfully,
Helen Irlen

IrlenClients: Banning of Incandescent Lighting Petitions
I plan to attend on May 9 the government committee hearing in
Sacramento on AB 722 – Banning of Incandescent Lighting. Therefore,
please send me all petitions you have at this time (even if there
are just one or two signatures on the petition) so I can take them
with me to the hearing. I need to receive them no later than May 8.
Also, please continue to collect signatures on the petition – thank

Petition in Support of Incandescent Lighting
Facts:
1. Fluorescent lamps contain toxic materials such as mercury,
cadmium and lead and are so hazardous to the environment that they
may not be disposed of in the trash.
California (Title 22, division 4.5, chapter 11, section 66261.50)
2. Many people cannot tolerate or function well under fluorescent
lighting. Fluorescent lighting is known to cause headaches,
eyestrain, eye irritation, vision disturbances, fatigue, difficulty
in concentration, increased rate of `misjudgments' and accidents,
malaise, irritability, ADD, ADHD, Lupus, epileptic seizures and even
life threatening reactions such as anaphylactic shock.
We, the undersigned, therefore respectfully request that there be no
ban on the manufacturing, sale or use of the incandescent bulb.
