Re: Newly diagnosed daughter,confused mum!

thanks for the quick reply.

she has quite a few of the symptoms of Irlens, even without asking
her too indepth. I dont want to put thoughts into her head before
the tests.

main ones are short attention, fidgety when reading, skipping lines
losing place stumbling over words when reading and still not really
reading what id call "proper books" for her age. she reads similar
books to her 5 year old sister even though the school says her
ability is above her age group. (they let her use a ruler as a
marker to get this result) bad handwriting bad spacing, clumsy, lack
of motivation, trouble copying and reluctance to copy from a white
board, not very well coordinated. She has said that the words jump
around and are sometimes blurred. the optician gave her some
overlays to try and a combination of aqua and mint green she
said "trapped" the words and held them still so she could read them.
she reads better in dim light. the school had pretty much written
her off as a lazy waste of time, but the fact that she had no
behaviour problems made me push on.

the only antibiotics she has had are amoxycillin.
Ive started her on omega 3 & 6 oils today.
