Hi, as a newcomer myself, I would first look at www.irlen.com. Read
through everything on the website. You'll probably find a lot of
your symptoms on the website. That's where I'd start. I haven't
tried the Irlen glasses yet as they are quite expensive, but I'm
working towards it.
About noise, through my seemingly-antibiotic-related problems this
year, I went to a neurologist. He said that people with migraines
tend to have light and noise sensitivity. You might read that on
the irlen website also, but I can't remember for sure.
Hm, I just thought of something -- you mentioned reading
comprehension problems. Do you have astigmatisms (probably
misspelled it)? Or have you ever had glasses? I had always had
reading comprehension problems but did well in school because I
found ways to learn despite the disability. I was never fitted for
glasses until I was about 40 yrs old because reading was starting to
get fuzzy. As soon as I started wearing my glasses, with
astigmatism correction in both eyes, I was suddenly able to read
once or at most twice as opposed to my usual 30 to 40 times in order
to comprehend what I was reading. Maybe this will give you some
ideas.
Hope this gets you started. I think the moderator of the group is
on vacation. She's a wealth of information.
