Hi Sarah,
Sorry not getting back to you sooner, I had to take care of some
family problems... You are so welcomed, and don't worry about your
post being long. It was long because it had to be, you had allot of
important questions you needed answered. Yes, just because someone is
a doctor does not mean they are home when the lights are supposed to
be on. ;)
I will be getting ready to go on vacation so I may not be on the
computer this month till after I am back sometime on the 21st, but I
will do my best to check the website. I am still curious to learn of
the blood test results on your little Megan. What a brave little girl
she has learned to be. She sounds like a joy to have, "im exzasberated
mom". I like it that you pick a word from the dictionary once a week.
I am impressed that she knows 10 states.
How interesting that your doctor suggested using soft pink light
bulbs, it is good that more doctors are coming onboard to light
sensitivity. Why, this morning reading the newspaper I read that a
Harvard Doctor has invented something he calls Nue Vue (sp?) Glasses
to help people stay emotionally calm when their brain gets stressed! I
am curious as to how they compare with Helen Irlen's glasses? That her
doctor tested her on color tints is something I have never heard. I am
sure its been out there, just not as popular... I like his methods of
flipping through the colors, but the last I heard, Helen checks 350
color tints, and that does not include the amount of variation that
can be used with them. Do you know how many colors he used, and if in
any combinations? Yes, I agree, he sounds like a real good eye doctor.
Did you happen to go to Helen's Website yet? If so did this answer
your question about photophobia? I like to know more about what the
doctor's diagnose Megan with (photophobia, Actinic Prurigo? EPP?
photosensitivity). I am glad that you are going to look into
counseling for the both of you. I am in particularly concerned with
Megan because she has learned to depersonalize herself from the pain
she has when she is exposed to sunlight :( Precious, brave, little
girl...when she sees everyone who's able to go in the light, but
her...that must play with her. Let me know what you are able to do
with a counselor, I imagine it will be a tough finding the right one.
It's bad enough to deal with the stress, and on top of that, being
discounted about Megan's problem from people who don't qualify to know
from one bean to another about this. I am here Sarah, know that I will
always be here, it just may take me a little longer these days due to
unexpected family problems.
Best Wishes,
Lu
