Hi Carrie,
Yes, it is very serious when you go to a chiropractor for help, have
his adjustments, and those adjustments make your symptoms worse. I was
in an auto accident in 91 and about a year after my auto accident I
went to see my first chiropractor. He helped me out tremendously. He
referred me to another chiropractor who further helped me. After the
last treatment with him (it plateau), so I stopped. I was fine for
about two years, except for a muscle spasm in my upper left shoulder
blade. I was treating it successfully myself with neodymium magnets
for the pain, and the size of the muscle spasms.
When I met that incompetent chiropractor at an air show. He promised
me to melt away the muscle spasm in my upper shoulder blade like
butter. He did not do this, he made them bigger, and worse. He also
started up my severe migrans again that started after my auto
accident. I needed to take narcotics. I am now seeing another
chiropractor whom my neck doctor referred me to. He is fantastic, and
brought me glorious relief (than my neck doctor), but I am grateful to
my neck doctor when I need his help from the acute pain that suddenly
hits me. I use the narcotics when my migrans become unbearable, and I
take them as needed. I prefer not to take them, and under the care of
my new chiropractor I am sure my migraines will once again become
under control, thereby reducing the need for any medications.
Interestingly, the problems I had been having with my light
sensitivity are more manageable since seeing my latest chiropractor. I
am better able to work within certain light environments. I protect
myself from light sensitivity more successfully, before it was a lost
caused after the bad chiropractor hurt my neck again. That threw my
nervous symptom into complete chaos, and also with my color filter
glasses. Thankfully, I am once again able to use my color filter
glasses effectively.
It appears to me that sometimes you need to get a medical condition
under control until the color filter glasses work. At least that
happened for me when a bad chiropractor hurt my neck again.
Note: My auto accident gave me severe whiplash. I have always
suspected my neck, because I was in perfect health until the severe
whiplash in the auto accident. I had no SSS. Both of my arms were
locked in a contorted position for a long period of time until
physical therapists helped relaxed my locked neck muscle from their
spasms. Go figure.
