Hello,
I am a mother of two boys. My oldest is 13 and in the 8th grade. We
have foundout last Tuesday that he is serve Scotopic. He only sees
one word on a page. All these years in school he hated to read, did
not comprehend very well and had a really bad handwriting. He would
sit on his legs in his chair and to take Taas test they would put him
in the corner. He has always made A & B's....he had to work for them
and study alot, but he has done it. He is going to a different
school district and they are the ones that have found it....not
really all the Glory goes to God...if it weren't for God the doors
would not have been open for him to attend this other school
district. Any way I have lots of questions and am just amazed at
SSS...I have blamed myself for him having to struggle this long. But
he does make the good grades and no discipline problems...he was in a
one on one Title class in 3rd grade but they said he just needed to
learn how to take test...So here we are now...He has tested for
double purple and oh my the difference in his study time and
comprehension....I am looking for colored notebook paper...however I
think we will have to make our own. The legal pads are to light and
he says they are starting to look white. He plays basketball and has
since 2nd grade...he is really good and has even played on an Elite
team...so his distance perseption is good....however when he looks at
purple paper to read is he supposed to see everything on the
page...he still sees just about 3 words..on white paper he only saw
one word...he will go under a 504 plan in school...I am trying to
find out everything I can about SSS so I can help him see what I see.
Will he ever see what I see or does the color paper just improve from
the white paper? I appreciate all your help. I would even be will
to give out my phone number for someone to talk to in person.
God Bless and Thank you,
Tesa
