Re: [Glimmer 'Colored Filter Glasses'] why the resistance?

Grasha:
Thanks for your reply. You confirmed a lot of what I suspected.
I was just trained as a screener earlier this week. Both my children have
the disorder, and it appears, so do I.
As a teacher I'm just flabbergasted with the skepticism and ignorance of the
medical and educational communities. It seems we have something here that
can change the lives of millions of people. It is already being applied in
three of the western industrialized nations (well two if you don't count New
Zealand,) but our teachers and doctors for the most part keep blithering on
about "not enough research."
I'm angry about this. When I had my son's eyes checked prior to getting
filters for him, the ophthalmologist (who was generally receptive and
supportive) reverted to the party line of "a lot of this might have been
addressed if
he'd had his eyes checked." Well, he DID have his eyes checked. So did I.
Neither of the ophthalmologists helped us. The Irlen overlays did.
My suspicion here, which continues to grow, is that the real agenda of the
American medical community is to sell services and drugs, and the Irlen
method prevents them from doing that. So they attack the method, complain
about
"unscientific methodology" and use the same unscientific processes to condemn
SSS.
So I'm mad as hell and want to start getting the word out. Suggestions?
