Hi,
I had suffered a permanent daily migraine before getting my Irlen lenses,
just like you, after a head injury. I always had bad migraines, since babyhood,
and they got more and more frequent over the years. I don't know what role my
head injury played in this, but after that, they became daily occurances, not
immediately, but in the following year or two. Now I have a migraine one day,
and then a day off, then on again, so every other day, except during the summer
months, when things are much better. You also find the winter months worse, you
said. How are your migraines after getting the leather wraparounds? Is it the
peripheral light that is bothering us? I have passed on your message to the
local Irlen screener, and thought she might approach Harvey on behalf of myself
and several migraine sufferers in this area. Thankyou for the help.
Elizabeth

Thanks for sharing with us, Elizabeth. It's going to bless
everyone and by sharing, maybe we can all help one another find
answers so we can find successful ways to cope with this and have
better lives.
Before I got the Irlen filter coating put on my glasses, I had a
permanent headache. It changed in intensity, from bad to
excruciating, but never went away. At first I just had one pair of
regular style prescription glasses. Since I have progressive
prescription lenses, no one thought they could be made to fit wrap-
around sunglass frames... until I talked with Harvey at the Irlen
Institute's headquarters. He made them up for me, using Killer Loop
wrap around frames and they are terriffic! There are a lot of
styles that may work for you, depending on your needs.
Harvey uses the leather wrap-arounds for his own glasses. He may
be able to help you find a frame or other solution that will work
for you. You can contact him at the Irlen Institute headquarters in
Long Beach, CA. The phone number there is 1-562-496-2550.
I hope you can get total freedom from the migranes soon.
Please feel free to ask questions or share more on your
experiences, thoughts and ideas and please keep us up to date as you
work on finding a solution.

and quality of light. A migraine sufferer, I get about 15 migraines
a month starting in August and running through to May, with only
about 5 a month from May to the end of July. I believe it is partly
the influence of Chinook winds here in Southern Alberta, Canada, and
partly the light coming in around my glasses. The angle of the sun
being different, and the light itself having a different quality,
the peripheral light seems to become more of a problem, also the
glare of sun on the snow could have something to do with it. My
screener and I have been trying to find something that would wrap
around my glasses and block this peripheral light, but no luck so
far. Leather wrap-arounds are available, but just for certain types
of sunglasses. I could not find frames that blocked the light
coming in from around the lenses. Any ideas would be welcome. I
have heard that other people also suffer more from the light in
winter months.
