Thanks for the reply Julie.
Yes, the teachers are making some of the accommodations. They are
finally starting to enlarge most of his work. Thanks for reminding me
they are human too and may feel overwhelmed with the amount of
changes. There are so many, I guess I want them all now so I don't
have to see my son so upset all the time and frustrated for getting
in trouble for not finishing work that was supposed to be shortened
for him to begin with. I had a long talk with one of the teachers
yesterday and she said she just forgets because she has an
overwhelming amount of students this year with various problems and
they are all different. I told her I can understand that and nobody
can expect perfection but that I will not stand by and let my child
be punished for not finishing work that was either not enlarged for
him or not printed on his grey paper. And if he can't finish it when
the other children finish theirs then that clearly meant it should be
reduced instead of making him miss PE. I think we are headed in the
right direction now but I don't know how his other teacher will be.
She seems to resent being made to do these extra things. So we will
see. We will have a group meeting soon with principals and teachers.
We are going to bring up the 504 thing in that meeting again so I am
gathering all the info I can so I'll at least look like I know what
I'm talking about.8^) Thanks again for putting me in check and thanks
for all the info.
