Todd,
I agree with Bruce, be careful what you buy. We have customers who purchase our
roots to improve their health but they use the root on a routine basis. One
woman actually uses it to regulate her diabetes. She is in her 60's and looks
much younger. I also agree with Bruce in regards to the Chinese people's use of
the root. All those years and all those people? Can they ALL be wrong? Anyway
good luck and stay away from the junk stuff, buy pure ginseng from a reputable
grower.

This is the kind of thing I wanted to learn when I
joined this group. However the emphasis here is on
cultivation as an alternate source of income. And it
really hasn't affected my knowledge.

I think that ginseng is a delicate sort of "energant".
It's not like cocaine where you do it and you "will"
feel it. I believe that ginseng is one of a
combination of things you do to make yourself feel
better. Possibly it does things you can't directly
feel; like lower your blood pressure and chloresterol.

I may be wrong.

Tod , frankly, you bought dope ...ginseng does not do this to your body or
mind , it will at most make you feel like you had a coffee. The long term
affects are said to be better health by balancing your yin and yang (chinese
philosophy).
Modern science is confirming what the Chinese have said for fifty centuries,
that ginseng can help improve ones health. I suggest that you stay away from
potions and try the real thing , roots from a reputable source. You will find
dealers on the web, then visit them personally and pick some pure root, look
for 8 -10 year old plus , that has been grown without chemicals and then make
your self some tea or chew a small piece (1/4 inch) every other day for three
months, then let us know the results.

Please be careful in what you buy.

Bruce , BSM ginseng

Bruce,

Thanks for the explanation.

What I purchased was a quality product from a well-known company, at
a really good health food store (The Food Mill in Oakland, CA).
Maybe what I experienced was a one-time response to a new substance?

By the way, I have never used dope, but if this is what dope does to
you, then I am all for it!!! ;-)
