I'm in southern Indiana.
I've not planted much yet.
Mostly what I've done is found a nice naturally occurring patch, and replant the
seeds each fall.
I also have transplanted some other plants from other places to my patch.
I've amended the soil. And will be testing the area again in the next couple of
days.
I'm thinking of planting some goldenseal also. My dad owns 300 acres of woods,
and I live on it.
So I have plenty of places to grow it.
I am thinking about plowing up and area and disking it down to plant the
goldenseal.
I've been told that ginseng grown in tilled soil looses it's "wild" look, it
doesn't have to
work as hard to grow, so the roots get big and fat, and lose the rings.
I've dug ginseng in the past in the wild.
Anything to tell me??
Thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick. I've yet to see very many posts at all. I
too have been planting ginseng and this is the first
year I should see results. I planted 2 years ago.
Where you from?
