Hi All,
I'm not sure this is still a viable group, it seems like spammers
have taken it over from the posts I had a chance to read through.
Just in case, though, I will post my intro :) I live in the Ozarks
of NW Arkansas. Ginseng used to be plentiful here, but just like
everywhere else poaching and logging have taken a huge toll. I'm
trying to replant my own woods, but even still poaching is a
problem. So this year I'm planting everything closer to the house
where the dogs can hear intruders. Someone took all the goldenseal
last season. None of my ginseng are old enough to steal yet, but I'm
sure whoever took the goldenseal is planning to take it when it's
older, too.
I also have plenty extra seedlings which I usually sell at the
Farmer's Market over here in Kingston. If any of you need to buy
some, they ship very well as bare-root plants. Visit my website if
you are interested: http://www.OzarkGinseng.com. I only grow it
organic (not certified, exempt because I don't sell enough) and wild-
simulated. Any that are in pots are in the native woods soil and are
seeded in the pot and the pot is left in the woods covered with
leaves until going to market.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of the older
posts on this group.
