Re: [GERD reflux disease] Digest Number 158

Did your babies have reflux, Lorenzo?
Cheri

:Traditionally, Parents chewed the first food for babies.

I told my wife that she had to eat whatever she fed the baby.

She nursed him as long as she could, she mashed up the same carrots she ate,
etc. Fed him lots of meat and vegetables, chopped and mashed. NOT
canned.

Exception--- Canned Salmon from Alaska is the best fish. It only has salt added
to Wild Salmon.

Never had a problem.

Commercial baby food is not that great. And Soy is bad.

Why experiment with your baby, just feed it real food. Fresh meat, fresh
veggies, fresh fruit. Be careful with milk it is not always good for all kids.

Please don't say you don't have time to mash a half cup of good nutritious food
free of preservatives and excess sugar.

If you can not nurse, try to find a wet nurse. Otherwise try Cows milk and
Goats milk. One little girl needed boiled skim milk. Coconut milk is
similar to breast milk!

Jennifer, thats the worst part, its all just trial and error. Sounds like
you are on the right track tho!! theres corn in alot of baby foods, I
remember standing the the baby food aisle, for what seemed like hours reading
the ingredients on everything! lol Im glad shes doing better! keep up the good
work! :)

formula is 42% corn so that is
out for her and she actually doesn't spit up AT ALL so I'm not worried about
that. I hope we don't have problems with baby food! She is actually getting a
little better in the last two days or so - I think she is getting my
husband's cold.

Most babies spit up. None of mine had any acid reflux related problem. The girl kept getting diarrhea- the cure was to put her on boiled skim milk....
