I can see confusing gallbladder pain and GERD. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how
easy gall bladder pain is to diagnose.

I have had GERD for 4 years now and lately have either felt my Protonix
has stopped working or I have something else going on now. I went to
the doctor today and have an ultrasound on wednesday because she says I
may have gallbladder problems, she really is guessing. I have the usual
reflux and burping but also have stomach pain and what feels like my
stomach gets hard after I eat. Last night I had pain in my back between
my shoulder blades and if I had not been on Protonix the pain would
have sent me to the ER. The doctor gave me yet another med to take a
half hour before I eat to help until we find out, "if" we find out what
is wrong. I have yet to find out what started my GERD in the first
place. Anyone else have this problem?
