Re: [GERD reflux disease] I tried vinigar and it almost killed me.

I should have said, that extremely ripe tomatoes (tomatoes that are just short
of beginning to rot) work for me, though not as effectively as celery sticks and
cucumber. Bananas, when I eat them slowly, also work. I use apple cider
vinegar whenever I have that "stuffed" and bloated feeling, and when I get acid
reflux, by taking 1 tsp of ACV after the meal. I've yet to try using ACV
"before" I eat a meal that's likely to be too large and likely to produce acid
reflux. I have no idea why ACV works for me, especially in view of the fact
that it doesn't appear to work for other people. By the way, I've only just
started using ACV for reflux and indigestion, so I can't say that it'll continue
working in the future. I've often had the experience that something works when
I first start using it, and later on stops working. I'll have to wait and see.
But so far, the results have been encouraging.

I've tried Zantac and, finally, Prilosec, and it only made me feel worse, and
did "nothing" for my reflux. Prilosec, surprisingly, seemed especially
usesless. I usually get a night or two of relief, when I try these drugs; but
then, pretty soon, my digestion goes to hell again.

I've begun to manage my reflux disease better as time passes; but in the past,
it wasn't unusual for me to wake up every night, for months, with severe reflux
and pain so intense, that it made me think I had esophageal cancer.

I thought all tomatoes were off limits. Are fresh tomatoes on the GERD
diet? This would be good news for me!

Thanks, Sandy

The celery sticks would be for alkalizing the system... the oppisite of the
vinigar.Cucumber is alkaline and very ripe fresh tomatoess... well could be
alkaline too.
( only processed tomatoe is acidic )
