A dodgy cult has been defeated this week in Federal court, January
2006.

The Gentle Wind Project took umbrage and high cost,lengthy legal
action against two ex-members. Apparently the cult ring leaders were
disturbed by what they had read on the internet. And concerned that
it would cause a drop in sales, recruitment and donations.

Their lawyers initiated legal proceedings in an attempt to stop
internet publication. They were able to coerce Steve Hassan into
deleting The Gentle Wind Project from the list of cult groups on
http://www.freedomofmind.com

Two ex-members, Jim Bergin and Judy Garvey, have witnessed their 17
year involvement with the Gentle Wind Project on their website
http://www.windofchanges.org

They write in intimate details about day-to-day life in a high
control cult and how it impacted on themselves and their family. How
they came to their senses and how they got away from the group is a
fascinating, educational read.

This is a hard won victory for Jim Bergin and Judy Garvey. The
lawsuit was an attempt to intimdate them into shutting down their
site and silencing anyone from warning the public about The Gentle
Wind Project.

People who have been able to remove themselves from cults and write
about the process on the internet can now continue to enjoy Freedom
