PLEASE REMEMBER, WE ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS. ALTHOUGH REFERENCE MAY BE MADE TOWARD SPECIFIC SELF-HELP ORGANIZATIONS, THIS SITE IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY SPECIFIC ORGANIZATION.
We are a group of men & women who are husbands, wives, relatives or close friends who have been affected by a compulsive gambler and the gambling problem. If your thinking has become confused and you have found yourself nervous, irritable, and bitter, we would like you to feel that we understand. We are familiar with sleepless nights & broken promises. Most of us have tried pleading, sulking, crying, fighting, threatening...all to stop the gambler from destroying him/herself and those around them. In the process, most of us have reached the point where we feel that OUR lives are totally out of control.
If the gambling problem has engulfed your life, this site will give you the opportunity to discuss some of your concerns and learn how to create a better way of life for yourself.
I encourage you to attend face-face support group meetings in your area as well.To find a meeting in your area, or to request literature, please contact:
Gam-Anon International Service Organization @ their official web site:
www.gam-anon.org
Our goal of recovery is to increase our self-confidence in our ability to lve our lives meaningfully. Self-confidence is founded on the honest knowledge and acceptance of our abilities and limitations. To recover,we must admit that all of our previous efforts to stop the gambler were useless. Now it is time to concentrate on ourselves. We begin to see that the only power we posses is to reconstruct our own being.
Welcome to our group!
