Hi Joe,
I talked with Bob and he asked me to contact you regarding my study. In the
document with the study information that Bob sent you earlier, the link to the
study is no longer working. I have fixed the problem by creating another webpage
(a different url address). If you could repost the study advertisement using the
attached document or by forwarding this email (it contains the new url), I would
greatly appreciate it.
I apologize for the confusion and greatly appreciate your help with
recruitment.
Best,
-Christeine
***********Study Invitation for Mental Health Care Trainees**********
I am forwarding an advertisement to participate in a research study being
conducted by a graduate student at the University of Washington. If you are
interested, please see below for more information. If you have any questions
about the study, please contact the researchers of the study (their information
is located at the bottom of the email).
Dear [Clinical, Social Work, Counseling] Graduate Student [Intern, Resident],
We are writing to invite you to participate in a study that explores
individuals’ attitudes towards people with mental illness, their specific
attitudes towards people diagnosed with two different mental illnesses,
individuals diagnosed with a Substance Use Disorder (i.e., Substance Abuse or
Substance Dependence) and individuals diagnosed with Major Depression, and their
attitudes about a specific type of therapeutic intervention.
This study has received approval by the University of Washington Human Subjects
(32982). Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary. The
director of clinical training/individual has agreed to forward this email to you
for the purposes of recruitment for this study, and will not know whether you
participate or do not participate in this study. The study will involve an
on-line web survey that will take about 30 minutes of your time. An optional
online web survey is included at the end of the study. The optional survey will
take about 15 minutes of your time. If choose to complete the optional survey,
the total time to participate in the study is estimated to be 45 minutes. As
compensation for your participation, you will have the option to enter your
contact information for a drawing for a $50.00 gift certificate to Barnes and
Nobles. You will not be asked to give your name at any time except if you choose to enter the drawing for the gift certificate.
Your contact information will be entered onto a secure webpage that is separate
from the study. At no time will your contact information be associated with
your responses given in the study.
The survey is intended for students [interns, residents] who are currently
treating clients with mental illnesses. The survey will ask for your
demographic information. You will be asked for your opinions about individuals
with mental illness, with Substance Abuse/Dependence, and with Major Depression.
You will also be asked about your opinions about a certain type of therapeutic
intervention. You will be asked to complete two cognitive tests. These tests
will ask you to respond quickly to images and words flashed on the computer
screen. At the end of the study, you will be asked to provide feedback about
the study’s measures and procedures. There will be a “frequently asked
questions” section to provide you with further information at the end of
survey.
The survey is managed on a University of Washington and Web Inquisit web
servers that use the same secure transfer protocol used by banks and other
commercial websites. Data that you provide on the study website are protected
in transmission by SSL encryption. No personally identifying information will
be collected unless you choose to enter the drawing for the gift certificate. This information will be collected on a webpage separate from the study, and
this webpage will be managed on a University of Washington web server with the
same security as the study website. Your name will never be associated with the
data you enter at the study web address.
This survey has been designed to be as convenient for participants as possible.
The survey can be accessed from any PC format computer 24 hours per day/7days
per week. Although all security protocols have been implemented, as for all
web-based interactions, complete confidentiality cannot be assured. You will
not be asked for your name. You may end your participation at any time by
exiting your browser.
We strongly encourage women and minority students/interns/residents to
participate. There is no direct benefit to you for participating in this survey
however; you will be contributing to scientific knowledge through your
participation.
Please access the survey:

to FAP- she needs therapy trainees to fill out the 25 minute questionnaire.
