Hi again,
Thank you Jonathan and Madelon for your input into this matter. I've gone
through both of your email posts and have come up with a (rough) list of
FAP Therapist Qualities. It is by no means exhaustive! I have some
comments below some of the qualities/behavioral repertoires that that may be
useful in helping to operationalize some of the terms
used to describe the qualities. I'm also wondering if there are
any other behaviors that we feel are important, but are currently missing.

FAP Therapist Qualities
--Noticing CRB 2's
--Are there behavioral repertoires that make up the behavior of
"noticing?" Or, behavioral repertoires that make it easier to
shape noticing? What are they?
--In the FAP Manual it states that repertoires: "related to
noticing positive qualities in other individuals" are needed.
What are they?
--Responding to CRB 2's
--From the FAP Manual, repertoires that involve: "sharing with
those individuals how one is reacting to those qualities." Again,
what are the behaviors that go into sharing? Are they related to
intimacy
behaviors? How do you shape appropriate therapeutic sharing?
--Charity, giving, kind and loving
--Difficult to operationalize, but there must be some behavioral
indicators of these terms. What are they?
--Notice Approximations
--Respond to Approximations
--"Good, caring loving people" (FAP Manual)
--Need to operationalize.
--Is this different from other therapies? Do CBT therapists get
to be "bad" people and still do good therapy? :)
--Interpersonal Sensitivity
--Talking about interpersonal repertoires as they happen in the
here and now; giving explicit feedback
--Therapist being able to notice her/his own reactions and share
them appropriately with the client
--Empathy
--Need to define behaviorally
--Overcome avoidance
--Discussing conflict
--Discussing Intimacy
--This seems related to being able to notice and respond to
CRB2's.
--Disclosure (seems related to interpersonal sensitivity)
--Mindfulness: ability to stay present
