Hi,
My name is Mineko Sterling. I am a graduate student pursuing a Master's
degree in counseling psychology. I attended the FAP conference in Seattle
and joined the mailing list soon after. I am looking forward to learning
more about FAP and hopefully to incorporate FAP into practice someday.
I wanted to thank everyone for organizing the conference. I was very
impressed--and moved--by the presenters' knowledge, enthusiasm and openness.
FAP to me is a completely new way of looking at and doing therapy. Yet, I
did not feel the internal resistance to this paradigm shift because it felt
intuitively right. "Of course! Why didn't I look at therapy this way
before?"
Writing this e-mail, I am feeling nervous. I was intimidated thinking that
most people on the list are researchers, doctorate students and clinicians
with years of experience, but I decided to finally complete the homework
Mavis gave us on Saturday. This is a CRB2, especially considering that I
didn't speak in front of the big group once during the conference.
Again, thank you very much for organizing the conference. It was very
informative and deeply moving.
Sincerely,
Mineko
