Open Call for Manuscripts on Challenges in the Life of the Therapist
Professional Psychology: Research and Practice
The incoming editorial team for Professional Psychology: Research and
Practice is assembling a package of articles on Challenges in the Life of
the Therapist. This package will consist of pieces from practicing
psychologists about the impact of and coping with life-threatening disease
(e.g., cancer, stroke, heart attack), personal disability, illness or death
of family members, involvement in human-made and natural disasters, and
involvement in traumatic events. The focus will be for therapists to draw
out for others how personal challenges affected their therapeutic roles and
what can be learned by others from these personal experiences.
We are seeking manuscripts of approximately 20 pages, not including
references. Submissions must be original and not previously published. Each
manuscript should be prepared in accordance with the guidelines "Writing for
PPRP" (see
http://www.apa.org/journals/pro/writing.html).
Because PPRP is an APA journal, all submissions will be peer reviewed, and,
therefore, acceptance is not guaranteed. Revisions are usually required. We
are aiming for the submission of all manuscripts by October 15, 2006.
Please contact the incoming editor for PPRP, Michael C. Roberts, at
mroberts@... if you have any questions.
Authors should use the PPRP Submission Portal on the APA website:
http://www.jbo.com/jbo3/submissions/dsp_jbo.cfm?journal_code=pro2
NOTE: Before you respond to a posted message consider the following, If you
are replying to a message posted to the list and you want your response to
go to all list members, simply hit reply. If you want your reply to go to
only the person who posted, then you must type in that person's e-mail
address (do not just click on Reply). Following these procedures will
reduce excess list activity that may be directed to or of interest only to
the person who origianlly posted.
To signoff this list, send a message addressed to
listserv@... (do
not send this message to the list itself). Do not type anything in the
subject line. In the body of the message space, type "signoff
div54-members" (without the quotes). If you are sending any messages from an
e-mail address that is not the address APA has for you, you won't be able to
access the list. If you are not able to post to the list please e-mail
Linschet@....
