I've been reading the digests for several months now and have learned so much.
It's wonderful to connect with people who understand this problem. I am 78,
retired of course, and was diagnosed last January. I've tried the Muro 128 5%
drops and ointment and neither did a thing for me. Now I'm trying bandage
contacts, and they do make my eyes feel more comfortable--no more gritty, sandy
feeling. But they don't affect the other symptoms--the awful light sensitivity,
the blurry vision, etc. My sight is not too bad right now so maybe the doc uses
this as a stop-gap measure. Any help is welcome.
I too am the first in my family to know of this. But my parents had failing
eyesight they took for granted with aging and never saw an opthamalogist.
Thank you so much for the support and education.
