ADA and the stripey unloading area   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #20471 of 21944 |
I just noticed the mention of ADA and the required unloading area beside h/c
spaces. Is that the law? I see people parking in that area ALL the time. It
has become my actual #1 pet peeve. I asked a local police officer, 2 actually,
if they ticketed people for parking there. They BOTH replied, "Not really". I
need that space for unloading my husband and do not feel the least bit bad if I
"accidently" hit the car parked on the stripes.

That is such a good question. I get irritated when people park in those striped areas also. It makes it hard to get my daughter out and into her wheelchair. I...

Quite often we just park where the ramp can easily deploy, and then I just wheel across the parking lot to the store. I prefer not to circle the parking lanes...
