Description
The FSH Society, Incorporated, 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer health organization for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) issues. The Society assists individuals, physicians, professionals interested in FSHD. The Society provides information, education, advocacy to individuals and professionals, research fellowships and research grants. Website (http://www.fshsociety.org), brochures, newsletters FSH Watch, scientific conferences, patient networks/support groups.
The FSH Society Forum Yahoo Bulletin Board is for Facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD) information and education with the intent that: (1) the people who visit this site find support rather than any form of attack, insult or threat. (2) all content of the FSH Society web site reflects the mission with which we have been charged and for which we are held accountable by our Board and membership, and (3) the public has a positive perception of what the FSH Society represents.
We do not feel it is necessary to publish a policy that explains what constitutes an "offensive message" or the procedure to delete them from the bulletin board.
In general, our FSHD network has observed etiquette and respect for one another within this broad context and rarely has the Society felt it necessary to remove a posting or restrict access.
The FSH Society, Inc. is charged with the mission of serving as a national and international clearinghouse for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy.
