"Wake Up America" Know the facts about Hepatitis A, B &C
Frontline Hepatitis is fortunate to announce the showing of the `4
Hepatitis C International quilts' at an educational presentation on
Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Sno-Isle Library in Monroe, Washington.
The address is: 1070 W. Village Way, Monroe. These quilts represent
both living and deceased persons with this form of Hepatitis. Forms
shall be available for those wishing to be added to the quilts.
Filming of these quilts for the soon to be released National Public
TV series is a part of this day. Time: 1 to 4:30 pm Saturday at the
Library.
The primary purpose of this event is to educate others and offer
testing sign-up for HCV. This is the 7th Public event hosted by this
Advocacy group. There is a great need to show the presence of this
disease and to also give support to those family and friends, as well
as the patients involved. Figures reflecting the 2000 census
indicate 5 Million Americans are affected and up to 70% are
unaware. We hope to help remove the stigma of this disease and urge
testing of all citizens as HCV is the #1 cause of the need for liver
transplants. Join US!
Information and speaking makes up the agenda with the goal being
education and exposure to Public Media in order to help the over
102,000 Washington residents with this disease. We urge funding to
Public Health Departments in order to make this a visible epidemic.
Frontline has recently relocated to Snohomish County from King
County. Please contact us if you wish to display information or
become involved in this event. ***Food shall be collected for the Sky
Valley Food Bank at this event, so bring food and become educated as
you enjoy the beauty of these quilts. Time: 1pm to 4:30pm Saturday
May 3rd.
