Friends, Family, Partners and Spouses of those who have Avoidant Personality Disorder. A support group for people who would like to know more about AvPD and how it affects relationships. This group is here for people who care about Avoidant people - and who need support and comfort for themselves as they learn to identify their own needs first, and then that of the Avoidant person in their life.
This group is not a "rescue" remedy for a relationship that is having difficulty. If you have been rejected by a partner, this does not mean you are dealing with a person with Avoidant Personality Disorder. Understand that not all people who avoid "love or intimacy" are people w/Avpd. Hence, while we are sympathetic, keep in mind this group is not a catch-all for broken relationships.
