oncologist on monday (at MSKCC Commack). At that visit she insisted i
have the AC-T regimen of chemo followed by Tomaxafin. When she discussed
the side affects, i was very upset about the hair loss. She called me
again on friday after she discussed my case with other oncologists and
they determined that i also am a candidate for the CMF regimen. they
said there is a 2-3% difference in the two treatments of the cancer
matastasizing. They said the decision is up to me. So now i am really
confused! If any one would share their experiences or has any advice, i
would really appreciate it. i had stage 1 breast cancer, i had a
bilateral mastectomy, no lymph node invasion the tumor was 1.5 cm. but
was a grade 3 tumor. I am also 33 yrs. of age. Any thoughts, advice,or
experiences shared would be helpful. Thank you all Monica.

Hi, Monica my name is Cheryl. I had a very similar situation to you.
The hair loss was very traumatic i agree. It is a very personal
decision about the chemo. I felt I wanted to do all I could to beat the
cancer. I wound up with cytoxan and taxotere. It wasnt fun but almost 3
years later I am glad I did it. I was 40 years old at the time with 3
kids. I also had a bilateral mast. with reconstruction. Feel free to
call. 516-435-7096. The hair does come back and if you are a hair
color nut as I am, you get brand new virgin hair to dye anyway you
want!
