Right after I was diagnosed with breast cancer,I contacted ALCAT for
the $500 set. I paid cash, but the information has been well worth the
money.
Since then, I have combined the information from ALCAT with an eating
plan I learned from a book, Eat to Live, by Dr. Joel Fuhrman.
My skin issues cleared up. My nose doesn't drip like the faucet it
used to. A 50 year battle with constipation is cleared. AND I have
plenty of energy, though 9/20/07 I had bilateral mastectomies followed
by HARSH 5 months of chemo.
I credit ALCAT and Fuhrman with a lot of my successful healing.
I just wish I had found the information sooner...
Hugs to you all,
Teresa M.

It seems I got the idea about my increasing sensitivities.
Alfalfa it is great for detox, constipation and IBS. I was taking it
for about 3 weeks and I notised that my sensitivities are increased
though it helped my for reflux and constipation.I didn`t check it
before but now i have red in my book Prescription for Herbal Healing
that it is not recommended for people with Hay fever or allergies. It
is also has some phytoestrogens which are good probably for menopausal
women but it caused flashes to me.
Yesterday I was so scared that I had called to allergist who advertise
himself in local magazine. He was available the same day and he told me
that I probably still have allergies. He want me to come for skin test
again 3 times. Every time he will increase dose to determine if I have
EgE reaction. Than he can treat it with shots. I am not sure i want to
dig so dip for allergies and have shots. But I will visit him again bc
he said he can treat candida too.
I wonder if somebody had such tests and shots for allergy?

Thank you Cara for advice but I alredy use iron pot but it is not
enpogh. I have intolerance to gladin but my test for celiac was
negative. The major reason for my anemia is heavy bleeding during
period.
I can`t stay without gladin at all bc I need fiber to detoxify
intestines and help with constipation. y own bread it not really
appetising and hear to digest. But I eat gluten only few times a week.
And i have reaction to non-gluten food to so the list of food is too
narrow.
I have notised that even light intolerances giving me palpitation now.
For example mint, crab, shrimp are supposed to be light intolerace
food for me.I am not even talking about sugar which always caused
severe reaction and it is firts in my list.
I weak up at night with pounding heart and have to take sodium
bicarbonate for itchy troat but it don`t help with heart.Usually if I
will stop palpitation with Valerian tincture I have chest pain after
that.
If somebody else have such symptoms?

Ok, 2 more thoughts then – cooking in cast iron pans as much as possible is actually one way to increase your iron intake. Also, do you know WHY you are anemic? A lot of people who have trouble with gluten cannot absorb anemia until they have been off gluten and had a chance to heal. Some people who have celiac disease say that anemia was their only symptom. When I cooked ghee, I cooked it on an electric stove. It turned
out fine. I don't think it really matters as long as you know
how quickly your stove heats up and cools down.

Thank you for the guidance. I will start ASAP. It is very hard to tolerate
stomach problems. I did not realize how many products that have the
gliadin/gluten connections. I am not a huge bread eater so hopefully it will
difficult. --- cara.ziegel@... wrote:

Gliadin/gluten can cause HUGE stomach problems. I would suggest trying the gluten-free thing for a week at least – no bread, pasta, crackers, cookies, cakes unless they are gluten-free. I ate a lot of meat and potatoes at first, and I really liked some of the pastas too – I like Glutino, and others recommended Tinkydada or something like that. I quit gluten and dairy at the same time, and my stomach felt much better in the first 3 days. After a few weeks, I stopped having headaches. I also stopped feeling terribly exhausted and depressed about a month or 2 in to it. There are lots of gluten-free options available at health food stores and sometimes in the health food section of grocery stores, but I’d suggest waiting to buy those if you do see a positive reaction from quitting gluten – they are kinda pricy.
And often people wont feel better unless they do both gluten and dairy, but it is a little harder . .. meat, potatoes, fruit and veggies . . . some call it the cave man diet. Oh, and I ate a lot of corn chips, since corn is safe for me . . . and marshmallows! Most chocolate has milk in it, too.

I haven’t
bothered with the rotation diet, its just too nuts. I try to have
variety, but there is only one or two things I have for breakfast, and I just cant
be bothered to do more than that. Personally, if I had to choose between
eating gluten on a rotation diet, or being off gluten and not doing the
rotation diet, I’d take the gluten-free. Gluten and dairy are just
so bad for me, and have been since I was an infant, I’d rather feel
good. I’ve heard that there is no scientific evidence to support
the rotation diet, its just a theory. I plan to be gluten-free for the
rest of my life, its just not worth feeling so sick. I don’t even
eat bread at all (I’m allergic to yeast, too). I eat chips,
potatoes, millet, corn muffins, corn pasta, corn grits, corn tortillas. And
since the only meats that were totally safe are turkey and lamb, I eat turkey 5
times a week . . .

story.

I cooked my own bread Wheat, yeast and gluten free too but I have
hard time digesting it. In addition to that I developed intolerance
to alternative grains like Amarath.I think if I will eat gluten I
will feel better that now.
I wonder if there is somebody who can explain what to do. I have red
the book about food allergies and I have learned that even people
with severe allergic reaction can benefot if they eat a little of
allergic food every day. The body will adopt to it gradually and
they are able to eat it for life in small quantities. I think it
could be the same with intolerances.
I am afraid that rotation diet is wrong and don`t work.At least for
me.

I really don't have the money for a label reader at this point,
and sometimes those readers don't do everything they're supposed

Thanks, Liz. My grandmother and I made ghee last night for the
first time. Neither one of us had done so before, and since I'm
blind, I wanted to have someone sighted there to watch it for the
first time. I think it should be pretty easy now for me to tell
when it's done by the smell and sound.

-Sorry for your problems but there is good news. Yahoo has 3 groups
for cancer and many people there have great results with alternative
treatmenta like flax seeds group. I have learned about that when my
mom was diagnised with cancer but it happen to be wrong. They use
biopcy to compare picture with abnormal but it can be wrong. She
have mastitis and under my supervision now. LOL

Hi All,
I am so happy to have found you.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last September. By October, I had
heard about ALCAT and sent for the test kit. I can totally relate to
Julia's latest posts as I found the total commitment to the ALCAT food
list too overwhelming during recovery from surgery and chemo.
Happily, now that those phases are behind me, I am ready to give my
best efforts.
I find it tempting to have my husband and two sons tested, though they
don't have symptoms. Right now there are so many "off list" foods in
my kitchen. It is challenging to feed the family and prepare/shop
separately for myself.
I am looking forward to reading past and future posts and learning
from you all.

Yes, it is not a roket science and can be cooked on any stove on a
very low temperature. Otherwise it will burn very fast.It is easy but
Ghee have many health benefits bc it can remove toxins even from cells.

Well... I went by the health food store yesterday and picked up some pills (fungal something) to help kill the yeast. I'm pretty sure I have a yeast overgrowth, so I'm going to start there. That means tomorrow or Mon I need to start on a very strict diet. I'm not looking forward to it, but I have to keep in mind it is only temporary and that I really, really want to feel better!
As for the temporary part, I'm hoping that I'll feel better and it will be easier to change and I will have developed some better eating habits. I know that I lot of what I eat is just a habit.
Here's what I've been told about the diet I need to follow from the woman at the health food store. If y'all have other input, please let me know...
No fruit except for Granny Smith apples (not sure I understand this)
Any vegetables (easy on carrots and peas; bake potatoes at 500 degrees for 1 hour to break up glucose)
I can chicken or fish. Limit my red meat to grass fed.
No peanuts, but other nuts ok.
Plain yogurt only -- that I can sweeten with Stevia.
Water, tea or straight cranberry juice watered down. The cranberry juice can be sweetened with stevia.
She said she fixed lots of brown rice (enough for 4 to 5 days at time) and millet. Says she enjoyed the cranberry drink so well that she still drinks it.
So... if anyone has any recipes that they would like to share or websites with recipes and/or advice on yeast free diets, I would really appreciate the help.

Check out www.naet.com. I am taking these treatments to eliminate the allergies identified by the ALCAT test, as well as some other allergies. It's great.

I
do begin to suspect the mold only because I feel like I have more energy
outside of my home – however, that’s true from childhood, I often felt
trapped in my home and I think the emotional impact is still there. But I
KNOW mold bothers me . . .i’m just having a hard time getting up the
energy to do something about it . . .

To attempt to answer the mold questions. We had moved
into a home where mold was present, then on top of that we bought a used car,
which also, as it turned out tested positive for mold. It was a
double whammy because it is in the air, and I am allergic to it, it
decided to hang out and grow in my sinus. I had been on antibiotics for
over a year before I ended up a DR that could really help the root cause, and
not just keep applying drugs...
Mold is in the air all the time, most places, but if you are allegic, and you
know it, you have to be very careful. My Dr. has patients in wheelchairs
from years of unknown mold exposures. Most Drs. just keep treating the
symptoms, and if you don't deal with the mold itself, you will never be
100%
Its an enormous amount of work --mold plating your home, all its contents,
furniture, cars, sending off the mold plates to what kinds of molds are growing
and which ones you know are allegic to. None of this is cheap, and
most is not covered by an kind of insurance.
I guess I would say, if you feel like more may be going on than just
foods, see about the mold testing as well.

About mold growing in sinuses....mold spores simply get into your sinuses by you breathing and attach themselves to your sinus cavity. One of my friends' daughter had two mold balls growing in her sinuses that were taken out two years ago. One was the size of a softball. Gross, huh? As far as the named molds, I think it would only help if it's a mold that is in foods.

Hi, I would do as many foods as you can, so you will
have more choices on your "good lists" As to the mold tests,
coming from one who has had mold cut out of her sinus.. yes.. surgery..
awful. Do the mold test too. As well as the food issues, I am highly
allergic to mold.
About 18 months ago, I was having brain fog so bad, I could not write a number
at the bank to make our deposits. I was forgetting names. I felt
awful, was tired all the time, etc. Anyway, I went to a great ENT Dr.
here in Atlanta. He was able to see and get a large chunk of mold out of
one of my sinuses.(so big he took a picture--gross) The other side,
however, polyps had grown over it and so he could not get it out in the
office. He tried lots of tricks/drugs for months.. then we finally
resorted to surgery.
We have had to do lots to our house to get it in a friendly air state. I
mold tested all the furniture, and sold most of what we had. Before we
got the house in a better state, we had it listed for sale. It has been a
long awful road that I would not wish on my worst enemy. Now, I am
like a canary in a mine.. I can sniff out mold, and I just know.. "don't
hang out there too long or you will be sorry."
ok I am off my soapbox. but really...beware of mold. sally
