Author Roger Davis Deutsch Selected to Speak at
S. Africa Conference on Aging
January 2007 – Author and health consultant Roger Davis Deutsch will
deliver his address "Use of Alcat testing for determining dietary
factors effecting immune balance, health and longevity," at the First
Annual South African Academy of Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine
(SA5M) conference being held in Cape Town, South Africa, January 26 –
28, 2007.
According to conference organizers, this exhibition was made possible
by combining the efforts of the American Academy Anti-Aging Medicine
(A4M), and the South African Academy Anti-Aging and Aesthetic
Medicine (SA5M).
The connection between foods and cellular activity has long been
recognized. The result is an almost epidemic effect of food
intolerance and loss of productivity.
A report issued from Allergy UK found that 45 percent of common
health complaints in Britain are directly caused by food
intolerance. "Around 20 million people are suffering from symptoms
that impact on their daily lives and yet they are not able to get
help from the NHS," Allergy UK executive Muriel Simmons said in a
recent release.
The most common instances of food intolerance are related to milk and
its contained sugar, known as lactose, along with gluten and wheat.
Suffering from food intolerance typically results in headaches,
rashes and stomach pains, but can also inflame other medical
conditions.
"It has been recognized for 50 years that free radicals cause random
damage to DNA, cell membranes and other bodily structures," said
Deutsch of this study and his upcoming lecture. "The major source of
free radicals is activated immune system cells. The upsurge in food
intolerance has caused the inflammation and free radical response in
perhaps millions of people who have the diseases of aging, like
cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity; and a host of others.
The ALCAT test is a very reliable way to curb those reactions and
delay aging."
"This conference provides the opportunity to discuss current
modalities that might be of interest to patients and physicians. Of
course, my primary interest is in learning how certain modalities
might complement the ALCAT test. And, through the use of our newer
interface at foodallergyrx.com, I have the opportunity to share
findings faster with anyone interested in these options. It also
works along with my current participation with the Fit America
Program that runs through March."
Most recently, Mr. Deutsch also worked with his team at ALCAT's Cell
Science Systems to introduce the 20 Food Fingerstick Screen®, a self-
use test used to identify food sensitivities, to screen a limited
range. The laboratory also offers sensitivity testing for over 150
additional foods, environmental chemicals, molds, antibiotics, anti-
inflammatory medications and even food additives and food colorings.
Roger Deutsch intends to maintain a busy pace throughout 2007. "I've
noticed that there is increasing awareness and understanding of how
complex food sensitivities can be. The rise of processed foods,
organic options, lite labeling and FDA labeling is helpful and also
confusing for many consumers. Education through conferences, print,
and our own efforts, is one way to help the consumer live smarter
and, of course, longer."
