Resolution adopted to raise awareness of food allergies

The Vermont Legislature recently adopted a resolution naming this week
Vermont Food Allergy Awareness Week.
The resolution honors children with life-threatening food allergies to
raise awareness of the life-threatening, chronic illness that accounts
for 30,000 emergency room and claims about 200 lives each year.
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, up
to 8 percent of school-aged children have a food allergy.
