I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. Here's been my
experience. I ordered the test directly without a doctor and you can
do that too right on the web site.
I took the ALCAT test about a year ago (the expensive comprehensive
one) and when I got my results back (about two weeks), I just really
paid attention to the things in red and some in orange. When I
looked at all things in red, orange and yellow, it was just not
practical for me to eliminate those things.
But the basic premise made sense to me: your digestive track is huge
and if something you're eating (food, coloring or additive) is
causing an inflammatory response, then my assume assume is piqued and
would be causing some problems. I contacted them and spoke with a
very nice guy named Joe and he walked me through the process. I
started to obstain from all of the stuff listed in red (baker's yeast
was probably the biggest adjustment as I loved to eat bread three
meals a day), but some of the other things included cocoa (no more
chocolate everyday, but I still partake a couple times a week),
beets, cabbage, MSG, green food coloring (there's goes the mint chip
ice cream), etc. I also decided to pay attention to how I was
reacting to other things I ate. I realized on my own that I was
sensitive to rHST in non-organic dairy, so now I just do organic
dairy (milk, butter, yogurt, soy cream cheese, and soy sour cream).
I also stay away from beef, most of the time, as it takes me forever
to digest it. Other than that, I eat whatever I want (even many of
those things in the yellow and some in orange.
In 30 days, I lost 40 lbs. I was worried. I thought I had cancer
and was checked out by a doctor but I was just fine. I had dropped
from a 36 waist to a 33 waist.
Also, I noticed an increase in muscle density and also noticed that
when I would exercise or play basketball, my joints didn't hurt as
much.
Obviously, I became a believer in the ALCAT technology. I wasn't
completely convinced when I ordered it, but after getting results and
doing something about it, my little clinical study (n=1) was
convincing enough for me.
And the best part, I have kept off the weight now for a year and feel
great.
