I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate Jean Koch's help with my claim and non-reimbursement.
I talked to her by phone yesterday, and she was very helpful, gave information I was not aware of and I hope we can receive something back on our claim.
We talked to Blue Cross once again, and we are required to resubmit a "corrected claim" with the proper CPT code, the incorrect one was entered originally, so our claim was denied and our charges were not applied to deductible either! it all was just lost in space from what they told me. We didn't even receive a reason for the denial...because of the incorrect code, they said it was just ignored completely... not a good move on their part, we would've liked more communication from them.
Thanks Jean! I will update everyone on this situation and let you know if we receive reimbursement in any way. we sure hope so!
If not for this forum, we would not have found out about the correct CPT code (procedural code), so anyone who gets the test done, make sure it is code 83516, or call Jean Koch at 1-800-872-5228. She is definitely an asset to Alcat Laboratory!
There may be others like us who have paid and been denied for the same reasons..
