Hi everyone,
It's been quiet around here recently... I hope that means everyone is
well! I hope everyone's school year started off okay, and that your
schools are complying with your health plans and 504 plans, etc. We're
in our first year of public school and I must say, the bureaucratic
hurdles we've had to jump through with our school district to get my
son's allergy needs addressed were huge, and even with that they don't
seem to be doing very well at complying with the plan. To you guys who
are in public schools already, I hope the process has been easier!
We've also been challenged on the allergy front itself. We got our
first-ever IgG test back in August and it confirmed what we were
seeing at the end of the summer ... Tom has lost most of his
remaining few foods and he hasn't started tolerating many old ones
yet, so we are really in a hole with foods. We've loosened our carb
and oxalate restrictions just to get enough calories, but even with
that, we're having to give him foods he reacts to just in order to get
enough calories. Not a great place to be. He needs the calories
though, and now that we're getting enough calories in him, he's
started to grow again, which is great to see. We have a consult with
Dr. Krigsman this weekend - don't know yet how much he'll be able to
help but we'll see.
But I actually have a question. We need a SUPER-hypoallergeni
product. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!
Suzanne
