We are NOT a diet group so if you want to talk about exercising to lose weight or keep off a weight loss, this is NOT the group for you. We are about HEALTH and fitness ONLY regardless of size. We are about changing lifestyle to good food choices and frequent exercise dealing with issues people have when they are over 40.
We do NOT encourage any diet talk since numerous studies show dieting to be UNHEALTHY and weight loss to be temporary for 95 percent of the public. We are NOT about extreme exercise like marathons either, as we feel that type of exercise is more about bragging rights than about health.
We are a HAES group which means we support Health At Every Size - many studies have suggested that people who exercise (regardless of what they weigh) are a lot healthier than those who do not exercise. If you are into health and fitness (and DON'T mind NOT talking about your diet) this group may be enjoyable for you. Otherwise if you want a diet group which has some exercise discussion, join:
