Hi Everyone,
Well we just got home from the eye doctor after being there since 7:30A.M.!
He cleaned everything well and it started to bleed so he applied pressure and
got it to stop again. There is a blood vessel that's trying to bleed always so
we have to keep a very close eye on things and be sure it won't bleed again. IF
it does the eye doctor said to apply pressure till it stops and IF we can't get
it to slow down to take Lawrence into ER right away! He gave us a shield to be
worn at night only and Lawrence has a "inner shield that is "stitched in" to
protect the eye itself. It is SO hard for him to see and can only read the
headlines in the news paper now and he loves to read so all of this is new to
him and very discouraging at times. Even out walking I have to watch closely as
he just can't see right and sometimes there are rocks,sticks,and other debry on
the ground and some of the pavements,sidewalks and places we walk are rough and
holey!! Lawrence goes back to the eye surgeon on Tuesday so please pray that
his eye does not bleed hard again and that this blood vessel completely heals
over. The eye doctor said today that "this is a set back for him to have this
bleeding blood vessel and that the healing process on this eye plus the vision
may take up to 3 months to heal properly" Where the blood vessel is the eye
surgeon can't attempt to do some other procedures to close it so we just have to
pray and watch things closely--In the meantime he is not susposed to lift,bend
over at the waist,and now we can return to cleaning and ointment daily.
