I have never heard about treating severe cystic acne with xrays but in the very
early 70's I
had severe cystic acne and was treated with hot quartz ultraviolet lights.
Remember
leaving the derm's office at least twice with a red face-forgotten under the
lights as the
doctor tended to other patients. You know that smell of your skin after a long
day in the
hot sun - that's what I smelled like.
Sorry to hear about the SCC - I've had one BCC on my nose. Had it taken care of
early Oct.
still red from it and have veins showing now that weren't there before. Hoping
it will all
quite down and heal ASAP.
I've got a question for anyone who may have an answer or opinion. How long does
it take
for a BCC to show up? How long can you wait before seeing your derm? My
surgeon said
most BCC's are slow growing but the biopsy said I had one with an aggressive
growth
pattern. Now it looks like maybe there's something else near the incision site
and it's only
been 2 months. Anyone have any advice?
Hang in there Tethysis - I guess we all learn as we go. My derm was very modest
in doing
a skin exam - I wish he had done it the right way. I rather spend a few
uncomfortable
minutes getting checked out then having to go through another surgery. Life
goes on.
Merry Christmas : )
