I am a 59 yo w/m. Over the last ten years, I have been averaging a
new squamous cell cancer about every year or so. Numerous Actinic
Kerotosis that are removed also. Had a couple of questions;

Is 1 skin exam a year enough? How about 2 or 3?

Do most of the doctors do a complete skin check or just the normally
exposed body parts, (neck, scalp, arms)? I have a doctor that will now
do a complete body check but in the past they just seemed to be
concerned with neck, chest, scalp and arms. A few of them didn't seem
to be looking all that hard even then.

Many of the younger people here will find this hard to believe, but in
the 60's part of the treatment of severe cystic acne was to put the
patient under xrays. Has anyone heard of this being linked to skin
cancer now? I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time, but what
were they thinking?
