I think I need to be clearer
I do not reject complementary approaches or those that respect the body and
encourage health and happiness
But it was this one email that seemed to me to be more of spam than of in
truth
Love and Healing
And a very Happy and Healthy New Year
Ian

Ian,
I think you are absolutely right and I believe I have seen this message on
other skin cancer forums.

I do not just 'trust' the medics - but look to complementary and sound
advice - rather than untested alternative therapies
But this is a personal decision each time - the story posted earlier had
many of the traits of someone helping to sell a product
-a new arrival apparently seeking help, instead posts immediately a miracle
cure-all
-certain aspects of that 'cure' just do not sound right/true
My own view is that: do what feels right for you and, yes, do place trust in
the oncologists - if you do trust one, then move on to another. One person I
trust absolutely is my own doctor and she has no explanation for my
recovery.
The problem with placing all your trust in alternatives from the web is that
many are just unscrupulous money making ventures - and if they do not work
you are hellishly worse off - especially for something like breast cancer
where the response rates are hugely positive to chemo etc now
One has to be open minded - know that the inevitable is there - but can be
delayed. Enjoy what we have and act as wisely as we can
Love and Healing - and to all a very Happy and Healthy New Year
Ian

I just read Ian Dixon's response and he trusts his doctors and he has been
very lucky but I'm with you I think there are alternative ways to deal with
it and ultimately it will be beaten by ways other than disfiguring and
nightmare surgery and chemo. I have a friend fighting breast cancer and she
won't entertain anything other that the hell she has already suffered. God
forbid I ever have to deal with it but I am already disgusted with the
pharmaceutical and medical professions and I take no rxs but plenty of
supplements and at 79 I'm told I look and act years younger.
Again good luck to you but be very vigilent.
Irene
