Hi Angela,
Welcome to this group!! I have had surgery twice on my eyelids for
Squamous Carcinomas.
It showed up kinda red spotted and sensitive to washing my face or using
eyedrops and just kept getting sorer and crusty kinda in the corners of my eye.
I had them removed and they did a biopsy on them and I had to have one of them
reoperated on right away as the doctor hadn't gotten all the margins clear [they
have a routine they do to see IF all the margins are clear and clean of the
carcinomas.] My surgery was done as a out patient and they "freeze the area or
they may give her a mild sedative so she will be groggy and not even remember
what the doctor did" I had to wear a patch over the eye for a couple days but
then was able to take it off and the stitches came out in ten days following
surgery as "I'm a slow healer" Some people gets thier stitches out in a weeks
time. I also have Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Skin Cancers. Has she been
checked by a dermatologist for this also?
Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going. I'm praying for
her and you plus the rest of the family
Hugs And Prayers,
Doralea'

Subject: [fight together] Hi everyone
Hi everyone,
Im Angela and am new to this board. I found out my mother in law
has Squamous Carcinoma, Ive been looking it up for the most part to
get more information but dont understand alot of it. It is in the
corners of both eyes. She isnt sick, and doesnt have any sight
problems. They have told her she is to have surgery ASAP and will
schedule this tomorrow. Does anyone here have any experience with this
and can you give me an idea what happens, what to expect, what is the
usual path of this?
Id appreciate any information and would love to hear from any of
you. Thank you so much for having this site!
Angela
