One in two men and one in three women will currently develop cancer in their
lifetime and rates will double over the next 20 years. Yet 85% people have
not got a clue how to prevent it - and even the other 15% only 'claim' to
know. That is far, far worse than for diseases like AIDS or Heart disease.

Our own research shows that 71% of people correctly believe cancer is
preventable - but 95% say that there is absolutely no information available
on how to do it. This Newsletter looks at some very recent articles and even

Hot off the press comes an article from Australia on the truth about
pesticides by Andre Leu, who is the Chair of the Organic Federation of
Australia. Did you know that pesticides were apparently not even mentioned
in the recent UK Government paper on cancer?

Next comes a really important article from the University of Massachusetts
Lowell Center which challenges the arguments put forward by Professor Doll
and widely accepted as gospel, that somehow environmental factors like
chemicals are insignificant at just 2-4% as a cause of cancer. They describe
the famous Doll and Peto work as 'Pointless and counterproductive'. Finally
there's a round up of articles from the last edition of icon and then
September's UK press on Toxic Chemicals - just the major articles, mind. We
don't have enough space for all of them!!

almost 500 guests and had the very best speakers in the UK. The official
