Hi Symbain/Symbian,
I hope none of my fellow group members minds if I offer my own response...
As a teacher of ICT, I am particularly interested in the risk of radiation
from computer monitors increasing the likelihood of contracting cancer, because
if there are any long-term effects, then it's our children especially who need
to know about it.
To date - as far as extensive research has shown - there is no conclusive
evidence that staring at computer monitors from a reasonable distance has had
any more effect on the likelihood of contracting cancer than watching a TV
screen from the comfort of your sofa.
Please see http://aroundcny.com/technofile/texts/vdtsafety91.htmla,mg among
others.
The links you provided lead to websites that seem to offer assistance in
securing compensation in respect of the unproven link between monitor radiation
and cancer... and therein is suggested an ulterior motive to their existence...
If you do come across accredited scientific evidence which concludes there is
a link then I - and, of course, my students - would very much like to know about
it.
Thanks & Regards
Jeremy
