Wonderful news, Ian. Keep up the fight. Remember - some wise researchers
noted that all humans seem to develop potentially fatal cancers about 3-10
times a year - but our immune system resolves the problem. "Spirit" is an
important factor in keeping our immune systems running right despite some
other influences like genetic risk and environmental damage (diet, sun, etc)
conspiring to cut our clocks short. A remarkable MM warrior and friend of
mine expired on June 20. Ms. Kim xxxxxx - died. She was DX'ed with stage IV
MM back in 1976 - in her teens - and given 6 months to live. She fought it
off and with experience with all of the vaccines, isolated limb perfusions,
"Mets" to the bones, lungs, limbs, liver - she died at age 49 after one hell
of a 30 year run with the disease. I used to call her "Bionic Kim" as her
"ulna" in her arm was titanium due to MM destroying the bone. People do
survive this disease a long time - even from really rocky starts. Part of
Kim's success - in my non-med - non-psychology background view had to do
with her "ownership" and "comfort" with the disease. Kim had no problem
telling anyone with time on her hands that she had a potentially terminal
disease on her calendar and that she was just cool with the idea. I think
that is important.
Kim went from a 19 year old with a 3-6 month death sentence to a beautiful
woman who bore two wonderful children - now in college.
Hope your journey keeps improving.
