I used to be a little shy about pointing things out to my
dermatologist--like he was going to think I was going a little
overboard. Then one day this little freckle showed up, scabbed over,
didn't heal, and even itched. I went back to the dermatologist and
asked him to biopsy it. He said that he really didn't think it was
anything, but that if I really wanted him to, he would do the
biopsy. That was the one that was the melanoma. It just goes to show
that you cannot be too careful. Once the diagnosis was made, I could
not get that thing off of me fast enough.
