As you knew Lawrence was referred into the Cancer Center here as he has so
many Skin Cancers popping out all over and the dermatologist feels he needs more
advanced treatment than he can give him. We met with the radiation consultant
and he feels that "Radiation is NOT the treatment that Lawrence needs as he has
already had so much radiation in Illinois,Ohio and here that he has scars and
the consultant felt to overlap the radiation on the areas already that have been
radiated in the past WILL cause ulcer like openings and he doesn't want that to
happen" He HAS so many NEW ones almost right ontop of the ones already
treated!! He brought up the possibility of doing Chemo --having Lawrence
take pill form daily of U5---and then said a LONG word --that I'd never heard
before!! Lawrence already has a appointment with this Chemo doctor on the 16th
of Feb. to discuss these options and the side effects of it all. Then he goes
to see the oncologist on the 23rd. of Feb. So keep
him in prayers as he is kinda worried about all of this and how this Chemo will
effect him IF he decides to go that route.. The Radiation consultant that we
talked to today was "just a super guy to meet---and Lawrence and I both
complimented him on his bedside manner plus his honesty" He brought up a
couple of things that neither of us "were EVER told before"
One of them was "IF your Immune System is LOW--the Skin Cancers WILL multiply
like wildfire and the other one was IF you LET the Skin Cancers get out of
control they CAN cause a severe infection in your blood stream that eventually
kills off the organs OR causes a Heart Attack as the heart can only take so
much"!!! I asked while I was there IF they had any trials coming up for Skin
Cancer and the doctor is going to check for me and get back to me. The doctor
couldn't hardly believe that there has been three of us in ONE family with Skin
Cancer
THANKS for all of the past prayers. I STILL have NOT gotten any result
testings back on my tests and I Called the office early this morning before we
left for the Cancer Center and the nurse said they didn't know anything yet.
Told the nurse that I've rescheduled so many things already and had more
appointments coming up this month BUT like she said again--I am grounded--I CAN
NOT have any procedures,invasive testings or minor surgery even till they have
these test results back and I'm to continue to avoid crowds as the doctor
doesn't want me to pick up anything!! I got my papers in the mail last week
for a Breast Cancer Study that they want me to enter BUT I can't even sign them
and enter this study till we know some answers. I was chosen for participation
by the doctor that did my biopsy last year after a bad Mammogram. So please
pray I hear something soon THANKS
