caridyess, welcome to the group. First of all, there is no real way of knowing
about spots until they are tested. You did do the right thing by going and
having the tests done. The good news is, if they recently popped up, it is
probably early enough, and it was caught in time, and you are better off getting
them off. Time is very important. I mean if you notice any changes at all, you
need to have them checked ASAP. The sun has a way of causing bad things to
happen to your skin. It may just be age spots. People don't believe this, but
the sun does cause premature wrinkles and age spots. Though you do have the
right to feel a little bit nervous about it, don't get yourself all worked up
when it could be nothing. It is much better to be safe than sorry. Also, if
you spend any more time in the sun or exposed to UV rays, it is best to wear
protective clothing and/ or sunscreen. You can take steps now to keep anything
else from happening to your skin. You may also keep in mind, and this goes for
everyone... even though you think it is cloudy outside, the sun's UV rays still
get through and can harm your skin.
I am so sorry that you had to go through this. My husband was a Journeyman tree
trimmer. He spent many hours up in trees with his shirt off. He was diagnosed
with Melanoma at an early age because he was not educated about how harmful the
sun was to him. It is my hope that people can understand what it can do to you.
I do have some pictures in the photo link on the left side of the home page. It
might help you to compare what your spots looked like with some of those.
Please let us know what you find out. I will be praying for you.
Your friend, Angela

Hello, I just decided to join this group hoping to get some kind
relief or hope. I have tanned for years and now I am paying for it.
My doctor noticed a couple of spots on my face and sent me to a
dermatologist. I dont know the results yet and wont know until the
end of this week. He said they were suspicious and cut them off and
sent them out for byopsy. I dont know what to think or where to even
turn to. Just a nervous wreck.
