P.S. I keep battleing my knee problems too. My brother was a sports trainer
and now a P.A. I talk to him from time to time and he told me this earlier
this week after injuring my knee again and barely being able to walk for several
days. I told him I was soooo frustrated because I want to lose more weight but
every thing you do (exercise bike, eliptical, stair stepper, exercise trampoline
--- we have a bunch!) always ends up aggravating the knee then I have to slow
down, quit and baby it again. I am never going to get to the next level with
this knee... he said
Sis I hear the same stories probably 15 times a day from people. I assist
with about 5 surgeries to the knees every Tuesday! We tell people time and
again... you have to really work on taking off the weight or we will see you
back here in ten years to get a total knee replacement. I think he said it was
something like 5 added pounds of pressure to the knee for every pound your over
weight.
This whole losing weight is just not about looking good. Everyone wants to
look good. It is about your health and quality of life later on!!!! I don't
want to end up like so many older people I see always having surgeries, always
in pain, packing on the pounds because they can't move. Then the extra pounds
adding stress to joints and causing you to move less and gain more and it is
just a horrible circle of weight and pain.
I did a google for knee exercises to help reduce my knee stress and chances of
injuries. So I am going to put my "exercise" efforts for awhile to helping
those knees so I can then help myself keep moving. You can do that too! Just
be careful. If what ever your doing causing pain or you over do it and the knee
is stressed the next day... tone it back a bit. According to what I read you
have to exercise alllllll the knee related muscles so one is not stronger than
the other creating a muscle inbalance. So make sure you read up and be careful!

Although I tried to change up my food
then my exercise which left me with a knee injury I just slowed
down. That slow down (of exercise)
